About Mrs. Torres
My name is Carmen Torres. I am a Spanish Teacher at Buford High School. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I spent most of my summers with my dad in New Jersey since I was a teenager. I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education-History. I taught History in High School for 9 years before we moved to the States in 2010. At the time, my husband was in the US Navy so we moved five times in six years. Our last post was Virginia Beach. We relocated for good to Georgia two years ago, so I decided to return to what I really love: Teaching. This is my second year teaching at Buford High School, and I cannot be more excited to meet my new students. I am happy to teach in a culture of excellence with extraordinary professionals, and the best students in Georgia. I have a beautiful family. I have two amazing children of 9 and 10 years old, and two dogs. When I'm not working I enjoy riding my bike, exercising and spending time with my family. |
